Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. NOTE : these cats don’t actually have any magic or magical skills ! it’s all just tradition, sort of like how ancient cultures would perform like how some people coughs not me at all coughs spend too much time and energy with astrology to unlock the secrets of the universe even though it probably is just coincidence
cinderslip ♀the witch. a former loner, one who was trained from a young age to be incredibly spiritual, but not in the ways that you might expect. the small group she was raised in believed in the power of magic, blessings and curses. because of this, she can often be found praying over objects and performing elaborate rituals taught to her by her mother, and her mother’s mother. she believes strongly in the interconnectedness of the universe, and she was taught to believe that it was always trying to tell her something. this means that she looks for signs in everything, which was part of the reason she joined CLAN to raise her kittens. many disregard her as crazed, as it is pretty clear that the magic and signs she seeks don’t actually exist and that she’s probably reading far too far into things. she teaches her children her strange ways despite wanting them to adjust to their new life, although each kitten responds to it differently. IAN
sparrow/slander ♂the liar. given his warrior name because of his penchant to stir trouble, sparrowslander is a cat who is often found turning others against their friends or alliances simply because it amuses him. he likes to rile other cats up for approximately no reason, and his levels of instigation mean that he’s seldom very far from getting yelled at. is particularly interested in the lore that his mother explains and has a penchant for reciting her curses. IAN
daisy/swirl ♀the delicate. an emotional creature, one who believes strongly in the signs of the universe. unfortunately for her, the universe is callous in sending its signs, and she often ends up distraught for one reason or another. most of the things that she predicts from the “signs” don’t come true at all, but she holds out for the days where she finds a sign that fits effectively. turtle
basil/shine ♂ the charming. the type of tom that wants to engage in every social activity and make as many friends as possible. because of this, he is the first one to leave the nest. although he loves his siblings and their tight knit nature, he has a desire to see the entire world, and that can’t be done if you only hang out with four cats the rest of your life. a social butterfly, he is well adapted to most circumstances, except for fighting, because he doesn’t really want to hurt another cat. as his personality suggests, he is most interested in the art of charms. he thinks that his charms are wildly effective, as many do like him and act favorably towards him, but this is more because he’s a loveable cat and less about cosmic powers. he also has a strong bond with otterswim, which leads him to often try to convince his buzz kill of a brother that they haven’t all lost their minds. RACER
ivy/shimmer ♀the illusionist. mother’s right hand girl, ivyshimmer finds herself often doing the strangest of activities with cinderslip. she is more engaged with their mother’s past than her other siblings, which leads her deep into the voodoo magic her mother is fond of. it’s unclear if she really believes her mother or if she’s just devoted to making her mother happy, and there’s always an air of mystery around her. she also enjoys the art of illusion, or making cats think they see/hear/smell something that they don’t like a cheap new York city magician woof
otter/swim ♂the conservative. otterswim is the most against his mother’s teachings, which has always put him at a distance from his other litter mates. much preferring the ways of clanlife, he is the most adjusted out of the litter to their environment. dedicated to the warrior code, he strives to better his clan before anything else. biyuu ☆彡
THE INTRO POST TO THEM JOINING WILL BE IN THE NEXT POST. feel free to jump right in with a kitten and i'll mark you <3
It had been two days since she had found the fallen leaf in the middle of the den that she had made for her little ones. Cinder had taken the first day to meditate on the sign. It had been impossible for the leaf to just appear, she had decided, and therefore, it was destiny that she would follow the lead. She was lucky that her kittens were old enough to walk, as she would have had no way to get them to the place she thought was their new home otherwise. Still, it had been a long trek; they had started traveling just before dawn and now it was late into the evening. The sounds of kitten complaining had been the melody to her day, but she couldn't blame them. Even she was worn after the travel. Soon, though, they would be there. She wasn't exactly sure what she would do once they were there, but she knew FallClan would accept them. After all, why else would the universe give her such a sign?
The first scent of the border was a deep comfort to her. At last, they had arrived. She slowed her pace and eventually stopped just outside of the border. She looked to the kittens who shivered alongside her. "Now, loves, remember what I told you? We have to be on our best behavior if we want to be accepted. Sparrow," she paused, watching her son's ear flick, "that means you too."
The kitten rolled his eyes, which got him a flick on his nose with his mother's tail.
"This is FallClan. Remember the leaf? This is where it came from." This was sort of a lie, the leaf had come from the territory she'd been residing previously, but the kittens didn't need to know that. "Someone will fetch us soon."

Otterkit sat as far away from his family as he could get, seriously considering his chances of just running away and living out the rest of his life as a hermit. He decided against that plan of action on the basis that he was slightly hungry. "Well, I sure hope they hurry up and take us in," he grumbled. "I'm freezing my whiskers off here."
Ivy's own whiskers twitched, electing to ignore Otter as she often did. "I think I hear something," she announced, mostly just to see if her siblings would believe her. They mostly fell for her antics despite how unconvincing she was; her skills would get better with age, like a fine wine.
Today, however, luck seemed to be on Ivy's side because in not too much time after her intended lie, the shuffle of paws could soon be heard. Why was it always Cavepaw that happened upon strays on their borders? Wasn't patrolling the borders and chasing off intruders the tasks of warriors or, like, Hystericstar? All useless. Only good cat here, thought the scrappy white tom as he grudgingly drew closer to this...family that looked a little too composed with smiles a little too wide. "What want?"

Basil nudged otter playfully “look brother” he chirped excitedly motioning towards the undergrowth when the paw-steps could be heard “Someone is coming!” As soon as Cavepaw emerged, Basil had rushed over to the young Tom with bright wide eyes staring upwards in wonder “Hi, I’m Basil!” He introduced himself with a charming grin and a polite dip of his head. “This is my momma and my siblings. Momma found a leaf, so we came here to join FallClan” he declared with no fear “Obviously we are supposed to be here, it was a sign”
"What, can't ya talk like a normal cat?" meowed Sparrow, which earned him a swift cuff to the back of the head. "What, not my fault!"
Cinder's eyes twitched at her son, before she tried to smile at the FallClan cat. Well, that wasn't exactly what she had expected, but she suspected that most things in her life would be. "Basil is right," she meowed a bit hesitantly. "Sparrow, Basil, Otter, Daisy, Ivy and I are here to join. We have traveled very far today, but we know this is meant to be our home."
(NOT ME USING THE KIT SUFFIX BEFORE HE'S EVEN ACCEPTED INTO THE CLAN WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME)
"Well, you think it's meant to be our home," Otter muttered, shying away from Basil's nudging. "You did follow a leaf to get here, after all. If you wanted to go somewhere with leaves we could've just climbed a tree."
"Brat," snapped Cavepaw around the same time Sparrow got a righteous smack. Other than that, he paid little mind to the kits' bickering, regarding their mother with an apparent frustration. With all the odd cats joining of late, FallClan was on the way to being no better than SwiftClan. Did that mean he was going to have to marry Hystericstar soon? He hoped not; hairless wasn't his type. Firetooth lucked out with Chimerastar. Anyway, he squinted then sighed. "Not leader. Can take to him. Follow," he instructed, then turned on his heel to led them to camp.

Basil tilted his head to the side, a little disappointed at the lack of attention after his elaborate introduction. He scoffed slightly, scrambling after the tom to catch up on his little legs that were having to move rather quickly to keep pace "Hey, so if you aren't the leader who are you Cavepaw?" he asked, brimming with curiosity "and why do they call you cavepaw? I have been in a lot of caves, but your paws don't look like caves. Caves are dark and scary, but I don't think you are scary at all. You have kind eyes, even though what you said to Sparrow wasn't very nice"
For all the snarky comments he'd been making, Otter actually liked the cut of this "Cavepaw" cat's jib. Sure, he spoke a little...sparsely, but he was just cutting his sentences down to the absolute basics, language in its purest form. Nothing like the rest of his family, who were all about symbols and signs and reading into things that were never supposed to be read. Nothing like Basil, who seemed dead set on talking Cavepaw's ear off.
"Why's your name two things instead of just one?" Otter asked Cavepaw. "I mean, as in your name is "cave" plus "paw" rather than just "cave."
"I'm... sorry about them," she meowed, sending her kittens a pleading look to behave. She was used to their tomfoolery, but there was a time and place, and begging to join a clan was probably not the time nor the place. "Thank you for taking us to whoever we need to go to to sort this out. My children and I appreciate your kind gesture."
Sparrow looked between his siblings, smiling for a moment when his sister stood up for him, before responding, "Probably because they ain't know that cats are only supposed to have one name." He clearly wasn't taking his scuff nor the insult very well.
