Funk froze as Glowstar closed the distance between them. She had heard. She had definitely heard. Damn, how the hell was he supposed to explain this? Hey Glow, I know I said all that but uh it's okay. We can go at your own pace or I can leave. Either works really. I don't mind.
God he sounded pathetic.
This was nothing like him. He felt like a stuttering teenager, even though he wasn't saying anything. Funk was rarely entranced by anything, and if he was, he wasn't for long. But Glow was one of the few, maybe the only, he couldn't get out of his mind. The person he could spend everyday with and still be excited for what tomorrow held. A person he wanted to protect and make laugh. You know, all that mushy stuff. He couldn't fathom it all. That world was a complete stranger to him and now he could see it in front of him. That future, that world. It was terrifying and it hurt. It was so bright though. And warm to where he barely even felt the late night chill across his back. He barely came back in time to hear those four words.
I love you too
What. What! WHAT?! No way. No Way. This wasn't real. He couldn't hide the stun from reaching his face. Her. She liked him. Him? A goddess like her loved someone like him. He was hit by like the fifteenth emotional wave this evening. He put his paw on his cheek. Yep, he could feel it. His claws came out. Oh yeah, he could feel that. Not a dream. Okay. His heart wanted to distrust it, wanted to think she was lying for some unknown reason. Even if she was, Funk couldn't find it in himself to care. He was elated. A rare smile that reached his eyes crossed his face and he stifled a laugh. "Fine, I'll stop being shy. Then let me tell it to your face... I love you Glowstar."
Her paw touched the side of his face as though taking in this moment, remembering every detail of his face, the way his eyes shined like light off of water and the pink hues breaking into a new dawn. If the world had ended and these were her last few moments, they would have been the best send off she could have asked for. She dove into him, pressing her head against his chest. Moons of doubt gone in moments with a kind of trust she never had in anyone. When he said he loved her she believed it. When he smiled he could have gotten away with murder, everything about him was irresistible and yet she had resisted asking. She wanted what they had and wouldn't endanger their friendship in the hopes of having more of him. She was afraid that he wouldn't love her the way she did, but now her worries were drowning with the depleting night. "I was so worried... You and Foxstar and then. I just thought that maybe I wasn't anything special to you. I was afraid to fall for you." she laughed lightly, her emerald eyes staring up at him with a naive honesty only she could wield fearlessly "I still am. Only right now I don't care about that fear, your loves worth overcoming that kind of fear." Her hot breath tingled the side of his neck.
Sean's claws raked the ground, it was really hard not to mock them, but he also was a sucker for happy endings and romance and love and they could have this moment. He looked out at the rising sun, so there wouldn't be an era of shadows. But right now if the league nemesis and DayClan leader got together, what would that say about the Pride's power? If they decided on becoming mates they would have the most territory and power, their love was dangerous.

He pressed his face against her paw, lowering his own at last. For as much as he wanted to reach out and touch her, a part of him was afraid. Like he'd break the illusion and she'd shatter like glass. Even with the dawn's light pouring over her, he drank in every detail, like this really was the last moment they'd have together. It almost didn't feel real, like he was truly caught in a dream. The doubts were obliterated when she dove into him, and he couldn't help but crumple against her, pressing his head against the back of her neck and wrapping his tail around her as best he could.
Every doubt, every intimidation, was gone with her touch. It was so strange. She had become everything to him, but he was afraid to give her anything. Afraid it was broken or unacceptable. Afraid it wasn't love, just some other emotion he didn't know. He didn't want to bother this whole family, almost didn't want to know. But now he wouldn't trade this moment for anything. There was no other way he could describe this. He didn't want to move, but lifted his head as she pulled away, "I'm sorry... about what happened with Foxstar. But, please, know you're everything special to me. I was so afraid of these feelings I held, I just kept pushing them down. You've had me the moment you found me in that Dayclan field." His voice was slightly stilted, trying to think of what to say on the fly that won't come out awkward but kinda did. He was really no good at this. "Heh. I am too. But there's no one else I'd rather overcome this with than you."
