Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The broad tabby sat beside the river with his head turned back, intense gaze focused on the stars glittering above his head between the parting trees. It was difficult to see the sky from below the trees but he was reassured to see familiar stars glittering overhead -- he had not come so far from his former home that the stars themselves had become foreign. A mouse lay uneaten at his paws, the fruit of the night's hunt, but it was forgotten as he rose to his paws and circled with his gaze still upward. He was searching, searching for reassurance, and finally he found the glimmering brightest star and held it in his gaze for several beats.
When Rasputin finally tore his gaze from the stars there was a new calm in him. He prowled toward the forest again until his paw kicked the mouse and he looked down in surprise, remembering his catch, only to see it tumble in front of him and disappear beneath the waves of the river.
"Hey," Soaringbird meowed as she drew near, she set down a mouse of her own a few paces back from him. "Stars telling you something?" She asked picking up her catch and setting it just behind her as she moved to sit down next to him at the river bank.
He smiled, the same slender crooked smile as always, but only for her did it really reach his eyes. "Nothing new. But that must be in our favor. The stars are constant as the river while BrookClan leaders drop like fleas," he mused. It sounded more intelligent than it was - he couldn't quite place what the connection was, what it was might mean.
