Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Echopaw had been her apprentice for a few moons now, ever since they'd both been promoted, but she had yet to meet Skypaw. Though she would not admit it, Aconiteleap would have been happy never meeting Skypaw or taking her training -- she wanted to enjoy being a warrior, not spend even more time hanging out with apprentices instead of cats her own age. It was an honor to be given apprentices to train, but she just wanted peace and quiet.
Like usual, it was nearly sunhigh by the time she had finished grooming her fur into a neat and clean arrangement and was finally comfortable and pleased. She strolled out of her den and toward the camp, where she glanced around for her apprentices. They ought to be up now.
Echopaw was sitting near the fresh-kill pile, a mostly eaten mouse at her paws. She had been starving and got permission to have something from the pile. Especially since she was starting up her training again. She was excited to be training again and this time, she had a friend to join her! She almost couldn't wait to get started.
Skypaw exited the cave that made the apprentice den, head tilted back as she scented the air. Once she picked up Echopaw's scent she trotted over to her partner. "Hi Echopaw, anything good? And do you see our mentor?" She asked reaching out to touch a moyse that was smelling good and fresh. Upon discerning it seemed to be all right she pawed it close.
"I was just enjoying a mouse, myself" she answered Skypaw's first question when she noticed her blind partner pawing a mouse toward herself. "Aconiteleap always sleeps in. Thats just something you will have to get used to. I guess it's not all that bad, though. Most apprentice's have to be up early. We usually take our time getting up and ready" she purred.
She spotted the pair eating outside of the fresh kill pile and smiled. Good; they were awake. To give them extra time to talk Aconiteleap swiped some prey for herself then retreated to near her den to eat it, keeping an eye on them.
Skypaw nodded, "IT is kind of nice," She agreed. "Though I hope she doesn't make us stay up till past dawn to compensate." She said. "That wouldn't be much fun."
"Well you've had her before so if she hasn't done it to you, she probably won't. "Skypaw said perking up and sounding very relieved. "Which is a relief, that'd be exhausting."
The pair seemed to be getting along nicely, to Aconiteleap's satisfaction. After she finished her prey she rose with a stretch and meandered over to join them, dipping her head. "Everyone ready to start training today?"
Echopaw rose to her paws and dipped her head to her mentor, "Yes, Aconiteleap! Right, Skypaw?" She looked over at her friend, her ears perked and her eyes gleaming.
