His golden fur shone brilliantly in the midday sun as Talonkit made his way out of the Nursery. He blinked at the sun entered his eyes and let out a little yawn. Being a kit was tough. You were always either sleeping or full of energy. His gaze drifted around until it landed on Fjordkit. It was just the two of them now. They had no mother or father and weren't even in the clan that their father was from. However, Talonkit vowed not to let that get in the way of his happiness.
Himawarikit was part of a litter of four. She had three other sisters, two of which were twins that were always attached at each other's side. She also had two older brothers who were close with one another. While she loved her mother Sunflowerfield and didn't know who her father. The small orange she-cat felt alone. She saw the friendships that other kits had with their siblings. She also hoped to make a possible friend, before leaving the nursery. But she knew an apprenticeship was just around the corner. She walked out of the nursery that morning, hoping to make a friend even with the most prickly of kits.

Talonkit's bright gaze fell on Himawarikit and he gave her a small, shy smile in greeting. He tried to remember his sister's advice on how to make friends. Really, Fjordkit moved so quickly he wondered how she had so many friends. "Uh, hello, my name is Talonkit." He finally piped up and greeted the other young cat. "What's your name?" Yes, that sounded about right. You are supposed to ask their name, right?
