Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"It's nice to meet both of you, Safara, Kamara." Electricwolf said glancing back at them. "Though I do wish it was under better circumstances, where are you from?" He asked as he came up to the bush. "I'll be down there to grab the cobwebs, I won't be but a moment." He said before he slipped under the bush. "I'm still listening if you want to keep talking as I gather."
"We never really stayed in one place for very long." Safara offered. "Father wasn't-" Kamara started, but cut herself off at a warning glance from her sister.
"I see," Electricwolf said as he came back up from the bush balanced on 3 legs, one paw up that held the cobwebs he gathered. "I've got the cobwebs, com here Kamara, we need to hinder the bleeding. You will need a healer... But this will help hold you over for a bit."
Electricwolf stepped over to her, he was very careful as he began to apply the cobwebs. "Safara can you hold those against her wound?" He shifted to allow the younger she cat to put pressure on the mass of cobwebs he was applying to staunch the bleeding. "I'll need to wrap them so they don't come away."
Safara nodded and did so, her amber eyes wide with distress and worry. "Just hang on, sis. We'll get you taken care of." She murmured gently. Kamara looked less than pleased at being treated like a kit, but was seemed to be in too much pain to argue.
"We will," Electricwolf assured them as he finished wrapping the wound. "That should hold you till you see a healer. Which will need to be done before nightfall. Though I do have to ask, what do you two want to do? After we go back and bury your parents... do you have anywhere you can go back to?" He asked gently as he lead them back to where they'd left the parents bodies. "Or... did your father burn every bridge your family had."
Both sisters looked at each other, but for once, neither seemed to find an answer in the other, and their matching amber eyes turned to their mother as they returned to the hollow. They remained silent, as though finally facing the horror of what had transpired.
Electricwolf followed their gaze and then turned to them. "If you have nowhere to go, I can take you to DayClan... I do not know for certain what happened here." He said as he began to remove the coverings from the two parents. He looked down at the mother with a sad expression. "But it wasn't a rogue that killed your parents... was it?" He asked. "You do not need to go into detail. But... i need to know the truth. Whatever happened, I will help you..." After he finished uncovering the parents bodies. "DayClan's healer can treat your wound Kamara, we will protect you as you recover, your mother's grave will be on DayClan territory and you can visit it whenever after you've recovered. My clan and I we understand that cats come from difficult situations, there will be no judgement for whatever was done, I swear to you, both of you."
As he spoke he moved so he was near the parents heads taking a few pawsteps back before he began digging the graves. Starting first for the one that would be for their mother. If what he suspected had happened, happened, she deserved to be laid to rest, with a well wish to the afterlife.
The two sisters looked at each other once again. Safara's features grew desperate, but Kamara seemed calm, as though she preferred it this way. The dark she-cat began to speak, her voice starting out awkward, then smoothing out as she continued. "Father could get very violent sometimes, and was very controlling. He's hurt mother very badly in the past, and it was getting worse. Safara and I were trying to help her leave. Father found out... He jumped down from a branch onto her back and bit. Mom... She died immediately, then he turned to Safara. I intercepted him and he pinned me. I was just trying to get free..." Her voice trailed off.
Safara looked back and forth between the two. "She didn't mean to! It was an accident!" She told him pleadingly.
Electricwolf immediately stopped digging to listen as they gave him the whole story.
He waited till they finished and his blue eyes softened, "I'm so sorry you both had to endure that. You were very brave to jump in to protect your sister Kamara." He abandoned digging to go over to them. "What you did Kamara was self defense. Your father was a murderer when you jumped in. You fought bravely, thank StarClan you survived." He said.
"I know clan laws are not followed by every cat, especially those outside of the clan. But you would've followed it to a 't' Kamara, you acted to protect your sister, the equivalent of a clanmate to you, your father died in the heat of battle. Warriors do not go out with intent to kill, even if you had, he'd just killed your mother, and intended to do the same to you and your sister. And you were willing to be honest with me, despite this being traumatic. If you want, we can bury your mother. Deal with your father, and then I can take you to get treated Kamara, and if you'd both like. You can join DayClan, we'd be happy to have you, I'd be happy to have you with us. You both are very brave young cats," He assured them.
Once more, the two looked at each other, then, as one, they turned back to Electricwolf. "Thank you for your kindness and understanding." Mewed Safara. "It id's more than we could have hoped for from a stranger. I would also like to apologise for my earlier deception. Enough cats have suffered on account of our father. I would not have my sister added to that list any more than she is already." Her words were well thought out and genuine, the wording odd for one so young.
"It's all right, you were doing it to protect your sister," Electricwolf said moving back towards the hole he was digging and resuming his efforts. "Now I'll dig your mothers and fathers graves. We'll dump your father in and cover him and then we can pay our respects to your mother while her killer is no longer around."
Now that he'd gotten through the hard earth he was able to dig more easily, slowly but surely making two holes for the two bodies.
They continued digging for a time before Electricwolf pulled back and nodded. "I'd say these are big enough." He then went over to the father's corpse and dragged him in and dropped him into the hole not taking much care with him. Then once he was in the hole Electricwolf pushed the pile of dirt he'd made from digging over the body and covered it. "There,"
He went over to the mother's body. "If you'd like... you can say a few things, I don't know if she'll go to StarClan. But wherever she is, she's watching over you, and she'll hear whatever you have to say before you lay her to rest."
Safara and Kamara sat silently for a moment over their mother. Safara, as seemed common, spoke first. "Wherever you go mom, please be safe. I'm sorry we weren't able to save you..." Her voice cracked and she fell quiet. Kamara padded up behind her and took her sister's tail inn her own. "Have no fear." She said simply. Both buried their noses in their mother's fur for a minute or two before stepping away.
"What was your mother's name?" Electricwolf asked as he stepped forwards, he was no emissary, medicine cat or elder. But perhaps if he could give StarClan her name, they could welcome her into their starry ranks so she could easily watch over her children.
