Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The trees had let go of their leaves, scattering crimson and gold everywhere as far as the eye could see. SummerClan had let go of its freedom and NightClan its solidarity, and in response Bluebelldream chose to....do nothing differently. She'd let go of her worries seasons ago, releasing them to the leaf-filled wind.
It was to her benefit that she was something akin to a hermit. Most of her clanmates forgot her existence which meant the intruders definitely had no idea she was even there, existing peacefully in her little den near the FallClan border. It was swampy and damp here, mosquitos flitting about and the resident toads singing their same song, so it was unlikely anyone ever ventured down her way of their own volition. If anyone did chance upon her, they'd likely turn the other way; always muddy and with a twig or two poking out of her grisly coat. She never meant any harm, but others tended not to give a second glance to the monster crawling out of the swamp.
She learned to like being alone - let go of the need for companionship. It suited her fine, even if sometimes it could be...lonely.
She was meandering along the border, humming to herself, right as the morning light began to glow on the horizon. She thought she spied a silhouette coming towards her from the opposite direction and, though she expected them to turn tail upon seeing her, lifted her tail to wave it in friendly greeting.

FallClan was famous for changing seasons, especially when the winter beckoned for them to come, its cold chill sending leaves a flurry the same way it would if the snow was to fall. He, just like Bluebelldream, was a hermit of his own, traveling the territory whenever he could, dreaming of things and imagining the clouds that spoke to him. He was a dreamer, he was a wanderer, he was never the type to fit into the clans, after all, and for good reason. His silence made others rather uneasy, it seemed.
He rarely intended to, he really was a better listener than a speaker. Silverspectre was a ghost, floating around with nothing but words in his head, the same words that would never pour out from his mouth no matter how hard he tried. He couldn't understand why no one could understand him, but that was something he'd never figure out, he supposed.
The silver tom trotted amongst the trees, his silver-white pelt sticking out like a sore thumb compared to the gingers and russets of the ground around them, when he noticed a shape in the distance, a tail waving in greeting. He paused, squinting for a moment, before glancing behind him. Was this cat waving towards him? He approached tentatively, curiously, giving her a wave as well. It was rare to see someone so friendly, especially one across the border.
Thrilled to see her greeting returned, the disheveled calico quickened her step to close the gap separating her and Silverspectre. "Hi there, mister~" She leaned forward to sniff the air around him, trying to deduce if the FallClan scent belonged to him or if it was a product of location and he was truly one of her 'captors.' Would it have mattered? Bluebelldream's shining eyes said otherwise. "My name's Bluebelldream. It's so nice to meet someone new. I haven't met since, well, since I stopped living in camp," she laughed, as if at her own joke, "Cats don't really come out this way very often- from SummerClan or FallClan, and when they do, I don't think they like the smell of the mud. It does take a bit to get used to."
As if realizing she was jabbering on and giving him no room to speak, an embarrassed "oh!" squeaked out, her ears flicked back, and she clamped her mouth shut, pulling her lips in as if to seal it closed. She gave an imploring look and gesture from her tail to encourage him to take over the conversation.

Silverspectre was actually glad she took the time to fill the conversation in. His bright golden eyes were wide, full of wonder and surprise at the cat that had just shown up out of nowhere, talking about mud and camps, he couldn't help the small smile that started to appear on his face. It wasn't often that he participated in any sort of conversation, and he liked listening to other people's stories anyway.
When she gave a squeak and did a little mimic of zipping her lips, he blinked in surprise, taking a few moments to realize that oh! She wanted him to speak too. A sheepish look appeared on his face, his ears turning pink at the sudden attention he had garnered, before shaking his head, his paw gesturing to his throat with a shake, as if saying he lost his voice, though most would probably assume it meant he was a little sick or something, and not that he couldn't speak at all.
He peered behind her, towards SummerClan's territory, as if asking her whether she was from the bordering clan. He shrugged, as if to say he didn't often meet plenty of SummerClan cats at all.
A heartbeat passed. And then, realizing the pink of his ears was now red, it dawned on her that this cat couldn't speak. She squeaked out another embarrassed 'oh!," her own skin flushing and she was grateful the dark patches on her coat masked it well. "Oh, how silly of me!" She giggled, as if she should have known of this stranger's impediment from the start. She eyed his body language and the way he gestured past her, taking considerable caution to be more observant lest she misconstrue what he was trying to communicate. "Yes," she nodded after a moment, "I do live in SummerClan. Sort of. I was born here, you see, but after my dad died and then my mom, I didn't have much reason to stay in camp. I only meant to have a place out here to come to when things got too noisy or crowded," her nose scrunched up, a distasteful look befalling her, but she soon laughed again, "but one night turned to two, two to four, and eventually I just...didn't go back? I still consider myself a member, even if they don't remember I'm here; but they've never chased me out yet, so I guess that's good news?"
She smiled. Silverspectre might not have had a choice in the matter when it came to speaking, but it was nice to have someone to listen. "FallClan is usually pretty peaceful, isn't it? It always smells so nice when the wind changes direction from there. That's probably why no one comes this way - that, and of course the mud, and well currently the word on the vine is NightClan has taken over the clan. I haven't seen them for myself though."

He nodded at her story, finding his own way of relating to it. It seemed as if they both had a similar story. Parents disappear, no reason to stay, becoming a wanderer, these were all things he had experienced too. He gave her a tentative smile, before pointing to her and then to himself, and then to the distant mountains farther away, to where WinterClan once dwelled, before miming something short, as if to say he was a kit in WinterClan once...though it could also easily be misconstrued as 'hey let's go invade WinterClan right now.'
Still, his ears perked at the mention of FallClan's scents. He had always noticed that, the cedar and hinoki, the smell of sandalwood and oak...he loved it. Loved the way the ferns had a moist, damper smell than the evergreens, and how the oak sometimes smelled sweet, the wild sage smelled musky...it was a lovely perfume of all the forest had to offer. He nodded excitedly, taking a deep breath himself. He gave her a sly look, before gesturing towards the forest of their territory. Surely at this hour, no one would notice if he gave her a tour. She didn't really smell like a SummerClan cat either, and he had always been good at staying undetected.
It was very unusual for another cat to suggest invading a nearby clan to a stranger, but ever the politest, Bluebelldream had enough sense to gloss over it. Instead, she practically bounced over the border after Silverspectre's gesture, feeling a flare of rebelliousness burn through her. "I've never been outside of SummerClan," she confessed to her new companion and glanced around her surroundings with wonder, as if taking four steps away from where she'd just been standing had drastically changed the way the forest looked around her. "You have very nice boulders mister," she commented cheekily.

Silverspectre knew he was disobeying the rules and that the moment Hystericstar found out it’d certainly be his last, but he was lonely and this cat seemed harmless. He was surprised to hear she had never left; his eyes widened at that, unaware that his experience of switching clans had been a peculiar kind.
He gestured to himself before turning to the mountains and drawing two lines on the ground, circling one and then shuffling that paw to the other. He had switched clans before.
He let out a quiet laugh at her comment. He leaped up in one of the boulders, striking a little pose as if to appear like an adventurer, before leaping down and heading into a forested bit of the territory. He gestured towards SummerClan’s territory: what was that like?
Bluebelldream glanced from his drawing and then to the mountains and then back at Silverspectre. "My big sissy did too!" she enthused, "Is it scary?" Of course, after Lilydawn left, then Wisteriasun, the possibility of doing so too had become real to her, something she'd never ever considered before. "Were you sad? Were your brothers and sisters sad too? I think mine would be if I left 'em," she said, but she didn't really know for sure. They didn't mind her being all by herself.
But now she had a friend, and he was funny! She jumped up onto the boulder as he leaped down, then followed suit, admiring how the sweetness of SummerClan was lost in the rich earthen hints of FallClan the further they went. There was no wild honey or fat pollen-heavy bumblebees here, but there were pumpkins and hedgeapples instead! She ran up and tried to kick one, releasing a sharp hiss of pain as the bright green skin did not budge. "Ow! SummerClan isn't like this!"

He blinked in surprise. Did her sister really move to WinterClan? He didn't know why anyone would, if he was to be honest. The air was cold and frigid, and there were so many pitfalls and dangerous situations to put yourself in. He knew that WinterClan cats had always held such pride in their territory and their ability to live up in the north, but he had never quite understood it. Perhaps it was because he didn't have that pure-bloodedness within him, as much as the others had believed so. His mother had been a leader but she had the same thin coat as any southern cat; he never knew why they believed her to be a pureblood WinterClan cat either.
He gave her a smile that looked more like a grimace at the thought of his brothers and sister. His ears flattened slightly, before looking away. It had been years since he had talked to any of them, seen any of them either. For all he knew, they barely even noticed his departure.
His thoughts were interrupted as Bluebelldream let out a yelp. His eyes immediately widened as she tried to kick one of those heavy little buggers. He had tripped over one too many; in fact, he had fallen into a ravine once because he had stumbled into one of those. He stared a moment, before erupting in a fit of giggles, taking a few minutes before he could stop, looking apologetically at Bluebelldream. He didn't mean to laugh.
Using his paws, he mimed out his own little incident, of having tripped on one of those things and rolled down the hill, crashing into another warrior who had been hunting at the bottom of the said hill, giving her a sheepish smile at that.
If she had an understanding of what WinterClan was really like, she'd have been able to say 'Yes, big sissy is sure cold all the time, I bet, probably shiverin' like a baby kitten. I gots Mama's fur but big sissy doesn't know her mama like I know mine.' But, truthfully, Bluebell had such an idealistic version of the other clans in her mind, simply in that she thought of them more as other SummerClans, just in their own territories. She had thought, briefly, about what WinterClan must be like when Lilydawn left; that had amounted to 'Big sissy's been out a while. It must be real fun up there,' a lingering look at the mountain peak, and then she'd returned to foraging.
Though she could tell there was something about the topic that made Silverspectre sad. She pulled a goofy face at him, trying to cheer him up.
She giggled at his mimicry, even if it wasn't very nice that he'd laughed at her. They could be even though; he was sad, and she was hurt, and they could both be better. "Is everything in FallClan hard? SummerClan is soft. Heather is clouds and clouds is like cotton. D'ya have cotton here, mister?" Everything seemed sharper here - the trees, the smells, the herbs. She tugged her tail free of staring bramble, a group of blackberries falling off their stems.

Bluebelldream was a strange sort of cat, but with Silverspectre's own brand of strange, it almost seemed as if they complemented each other that way. He giggled at the strange faces she made, before pondering the question she was asking. Was there anything soft? There were plenty of meadows, and plenty of trees in the territory, and there was...
His eyes brightened, before using his tail to beckon her forward. He knew exactly where to bring the other cat. Glancing left and right, he lifted his muzzle to sniff the air, as if finding his way through the scents of the forest. Perhaps it'd be easier to do so by sight, but the meadow of flowers by the lake was always easier to sniff out than anything else. He trotted through the trees, glancing back just to check that the she-cat was following behind.
He gestured towards the direction they were heading, before lifting his muzzle for another sniff, and gesturing to Bluebelldream to do the same.
A stranger shouldn't feel so at ease somewhere she didn't belong, but Bluebelldream had shed social constructions long ago. She crunched maple leaves underpass just as deftly as she sloshed mud back home, taking in the sights FallClan had to offer. The looming shadows of the great trees all around eclipsed the last veins of a dwindling sunset, yet all around them stray flickers danced around. Lightning bugs, she registered with glee, playfully batting at one with a dappled paw.
She stopped when she noticed the other turn and gesture to her, lifting her muzzle in the same manner and breathing in the rich fragrance. Her eyes dazzled; they were going somewhere soft! She appeared to vibrate with eagerness now, a fanatical jitter in her paws.

He had followed the scent trail, the smell of lilies and magnolias were easy to follow as they moved towards the thinning trees, his golden eyes gleaming in excitement as they emerged in front of a meadow, small streams leading to the lake that glistened in the light, as if sparkling on its own. It was beautiful really, the wildflowers speckled across the grass gleamed white and blue and yellow, the alliums and cornflowers waving in the breeze.
It was honestly one of his favourite spots in all of FallClan; he turned to Bluebelldream with a giddy expression, before giving her a motion of fluorish. What do you think? he seemed to ask.
As they arrived into the meadow, she pounced forward, trapping a dancing flower between her paws. She opened them slowly and the little cornflower unraveled itself again, peaking up to tickle her nose and encouraging a child-like squeal of glee. "It's like home!" she enthused, turning back to her stranger with a bright smile. She beckoned him forward, as if she were the one giving the tour, and closed in near the lake's edge, silver fish darting in the clear water. "I don't see 'em often," she said, meaning the fish, "My water is dark like the night. Yours is like the day."

He was curious as to what she meant by her water was dark. Did water have different colours? He tilted his head to the side, as if asking her to explain what she meant that way. Silverspectre had never been to SummerClan, and the unknown lands seemed to tug a curiosity within him. He grinned as she held the cornflower, trotting over to sniff it as well. The flowers never smelled so sweet, he thought dreamily, as he trotted along the grasses and the daisies that scattered across the grass.
Silverspectre looked up to Bluebelldream with a grin. Do you like it? he was asking in his quirky way.
