Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Finally enough time had healed and his right eye no longer bled or changed. It was shut forever now and finally healed. His life was no longer in danger from the injury and he could go back to being a regular apprentice. Well, a regular one-eyed apprentice that was. He could see just fine, just didn't have peripheral vision on that side so he needed to turn his head to see but it could have been worse. Being cooped up on bed rest had been far worse but he could not leave the camp without a chaperone of some sort still. He wondered if they would trust him fully ever again or the young tom had completely blown that. That meant in order to get out of here he would need to convince someone to hang out with him.
He did a quick, discreet inventory of who was in the camp just then. Ratstar, Devotedcrow, and Firepaw weren't anywhere to be seen and that made it much easier to scope the place out those three had their eyes on him like a hawk anytime he came into view it seemed. When the jet black apprentice spotted a familiar face he loped over to her goofily "Sunpaw! What are you up to today?" subtlety and discretion were not exactly his strong suit due to his tendency to dive head first into everything.

Sunpaw knew the faces of the other apprentices by now, but even so, she had yet to really get to know all of them, so when suddenly, the opportunity to get to know another apprentice threw itself into her face, she immediately brightened. What was his name again? Netherpaw, right? She hadn't seen him much, other than hearing a few whispers about how he had been injured, but he looked perfectly fine. With a grin, the sunny she-cat gave the other apprentice a grin.
"Netherpaw, right?" she greeted brightly, "well...I think I have a day off from training today actually. Yarntangle's probably on a patrol somewhere, and she told me it was fine to go and explore our territory a bit more since I only recently got promoted..."
Then again, exploring the territory with another apprentice always seemed plenty more fun than doing it with her mentor, even if she did love hanging out with the other she-cat. "Are you doing any training today? Any new moves? Hunting skills?" she asked curiously. She had only been promoted a couple of days ago, so any information about training seemed exciting to her.

He had forgotten she was one of the newer apprentices, perfect! She would be more interested in exploring than gossiping which was exactly what he needed right now. Plus she probably needed to be with another cat to go out still too. What a better adventure pair could they be? He thought his recent adventures would make him sick of exploring but if anything he was more excited to get out there.
"Have you been to the northern sea yet?" Summerclan had both a northern and southern sea. He had yet to go to the southern sea because he had only been an apprentice during newleaf. Apparently there were too many twolegs for it to be safe until leaf-fall. At least that's what his mentor had told him. "It's a great place to hang out and swim if you like swimming."

Sunpaw wasn't exactly sure where she had gone. All she knew was that she had been to the seaside once with Yarntangle...but she wasn't sure which one it was. Actually...if she remembered right, they had been out until almost sunset...and that had been on her right side....right? Did that mean it was the southern sea? She shook the thought off; regardless, it'd be fun to go out again.
"I'm not sure but I don't think so," she chirped in reply, before tilting her head to the side. Netherpaw was one of the older apprentices, and often, the older kids rarely gave the younger ones much attention. "Have you been? What's it like? Is it different from the southern sea?" Sunpaw always had a thousand questions to ask, and any adventure seemed to immediately brighten the look in her eyes, "are you going there now?"

He brightened at her answer and grinned, "Yeah, you're welcome to come along if you want. I've heard rumors of some cool caves to explore over there too. The elders used to tell stories of ghosts there and warned never to go at night... but we have lots of time before then. Come on, I'll lead the way!" The black tom jumped up in excitement and headed out, exhilarated to be out and about again.
Deep breath in, slow breath out. "It's so nice to be out of camp again. It's stifling being in the den all the time" His grin was a little lopsided, it hurt still but he couldn't help it. The apprentice felt rejuvenated and like he could tackle the world once again. But this time he would do it following the warrior code and would trust his clanmates above all others. The clan had not noticed his absence for three days and he wouldn't let that happen again.

Caves? Her ears perked at his words; were there really ghost stories? She had heard a couple, from both her papa back when she was a kit, and from the other apprentices and elders. She followed almost immediately, a step behind the other apprentice lest she got lost. "Do you think there are really ghosts?" she asked, her green eyes wide.
Her eyes roamed the path they took as if trying to memorize it. The territory was still so new to Sunpaw, she barely recognized anything, but hey, the other apprentice seemed to know what he was doing or where he was going, so she just followed, trusting his judgement.

Netherpaw shrugged, glancing over at her with a yellow eye. He could tell she was taking in the new territory and it was unfamiliar so he would need to be extra careful. If anything happened to her Devotedcrow would surely have his pelt. The apprentice was already walking thin ice with the deputy, who had already shown him mercy. "Probably. I hope there are no such things as ghosts, honestly." He shuddered at the thought. If ghosts were such a thing was there a ghost following him? Was that Summerclan warrior who died because of him watching and waiting? He shook the thoughts out of his head. Those were too scary to deal with right now.
"I may not know about ghosts but I've heard there's lots of other cool things you can find in there. Do you know how to swim?" Netherpaw actually enjoyed the water these days but it was a mixed bag whether or not the other Summerclan cats knew how to swim. Sometimes even if they knew they hated it.

Sunpaw nodded, looking around carefully. "Yeah, I heard about ghosts but I always thought they were just stories to make kits go to sleep," she replied, though she herself didn't quite believe in that. There were plenty of scary things out there–foxes, badgers, evil cats–without the thought of ghosts, but then again, others had always seemed so fearful when they spoke of the spirits that roamed the world, some deeper magic or cursed things she wanted to ignore. It wasn't really a pleasant thing to think about.
"I uh...don't," she admitted, "at least not really well yet... Yarntangle said she'll teach me but she still hasn't had the chance. There's probably shallow water, right?" She didn't mind getting her paws wet, but the thought of falling into a river and being carried away by the current didn't sound pleasant either.

(sorry I took so long, computer kept crashing every time I made a reply >.>)
Netherpaw nodded, noting her hesitation. "There's plenty of shallow water. Don't swim unless you feel ready. I learned pretty recently myself. I don't know how well I can swim now that I only have one eye but I suppose we'll find out today!" His words were chipper but also tugged at his heart. He thought of the cat who took his eye and missed him. Thorn had really been like his father and his absence was deeply felt, more so than he had realized. He shook it off. It was so much easier for him to get depressed these days than it used to be. I'll show her what a great swimmer I am! It was decided. Maybe what he needed was a new friend, someone who didn't know everything - hopefully - and was willing to give him a chance.
They arrived before long and netherpaw stretched out with a sigh, "Welcome to the Northen sea! My name is Netherpaw and I will be your tour guide for the day. Over here we have the sandy beaches - careful before you get sand in your nose! To the right we have the ghostly cave of mysteries. Ah, and before I forget on the left beyond the sandy beaches is the man attraction, the sea!" He held out a paw as if it was on display, peeking at her to see her reaction.

no worries!!
She nodded, listening in rapt attention to the tom's words. "Yeah, I mean, I'm sure I'll be fine if it's shallow water," she giggled, not knowing a single thing about the tides or the way the ocean seemed to engulf everything in its path when its temper was high. Sunpaw peered curiously at Netherpaw; so he wasn't always without an eye? She didn't know much about this older apprentice, only that he had been injured for a while.
As they continued to move towards the sea, Sunpaw found herself contemplating whether to ask him about his accident or not. She trotted along, only broken out of her reverie by his jovial voice. A giggle left her mouth as he played 'mister tourguide' with her, and she 'ooh'ed and 'ahh'ed at all the right places, her eyes gleaming with the same humour Netherpaw spoke with, before glancing at the sand at her paws. What a weird texture, she thought even now.
"I think you forgot the bit where you have to warn me not to drink the water here," she giggled, "pretty sure I almost did the last time I came, before Yarntangle stopped me. Said something about how I'd be vomiting all over the camp if I did."
She grinned, before racing towards the sea. "Last one in the water is a rotten mouse!" she shouted.

(I thought it was still your turn to reply but I guess I didn't check 😅 I'm sorry!)
His eye widened and he chased after her into the sea with a loud laugh. He liked how carefree and fun she was. He felt like he could just enjoy the sea and the day and he didn't have to justify it. He didn't have to justify having fun or himself. It felt like ages since he had played so carefree like this and he loved it. "You're so going to be a rotten mouse!" He joked, making sure she was on his left side so he could see her.
But, running in sand was a challenge. Running in sand with one eye was even more difficult and he did not see the stick poking out of the ground, but just barely. It launched him into the air and he landed on his feet but just barely, his legs bending under him so he started rolling towards the water in the sand. Adrenaline was rushing through him and almost made his mistake exhililerating. "I'm okay!" He called out, trying to reorient himself but he had no clue where she was or what he was doing anymore.
Sunpaw knew she was shorter and smaller than Netherpaw, and she cursed the fact that she wasn't really used to running across the beach the way Netherpaw seemed to so naturally do so. She scrambled after him, determined to at least catch up, when suddenly, Netherpaw flew, slamming into the ground with an oof!
A gasp left Sunpaw's mouth as she scrambled towards him, concern written all over her face. "Are you okay?" she poked him, as if that would somehow miraculously revive the other cat somehow, "what happened? Do you need the medicine cat?" That looked like a huge tumble.

When e finally stopped rolling and looked up, Sunpaw's worried face was hovering above him. She was saying something but her words didn't quite reach him until the end of her sentence. Instead of reacting like a normal cat and saying he was in pain or even embarrassed from his spill, Netherpaw started laughing. It started quiet and almost sounded like crying, but quickly grew in volume. He didn't know why he was laughing, maybe he had hit his head. It just felt good to laugh and the situation was ridiculous. A stick? A stick had made him fall so far? It truly tickled him pink. He laughed so hard he was crying and eventually it died down.
"I'm sorry, I'm okay." He grinned, focusing on breathing. Laughing like that was a lot of work and didn't allow for breathing very well. "Maybe I've lost my mind, though."

Sunpaw's face was flushed, her green eyes wide and staring at the other tom as if she wasn't sure how to react. Was he...okay? He was laughing now, as if she had told the funniest joke he had ever heard. She blushed, feeling uncertain how to react. Should she laugh along? Or be concerned that he was going crazy? Or perhaps she should just pretend as if nothing had happened?
When he finally spoke, she let out a sigh of relief. "I really thought you hit your head too hard for a second," she accused with a pout, before waving a paw in front of his face, "how many claws do I have up?"

He grinned, not moving and just laying there belly up. He batted her paw away playfully and rolled his one good eye. "Maybe I did hit my head but that was just so ridiculous. I haven't really laughed in a while so maybe I did go crazy for a minute." He sighed and stretched out a back leg. "Everyone thinks I'm crazy or a traitor anyways so I'm just having fun." He jumped up, ready for a rematch but deciding it would need to wait. One of his paws was feeling a little sore.
"Want to go in the shallow part of the water with me? Not deep enough that it's dangerous, of course." She had already voiced her concerns with swimming and that it made her uncomfortable. Netherpaw just had a feeling that the cool water would feel good on his sore paw.

(oh my god i'm so sorry I just realized there was a saved threads tab LMFAO I must've missed this sdkgljdlskgj uniqcrim )
She gave him a curious look. What did he mean by that anyway? She wasn't quite aware of what the clan rumours were, but Netherpaw seemed like a nice guy. Why would everyone think he was a traitor? "Is it because you weren't born here?" she asked curiously, totally unaware that she might've been trodding onto a sensitive spot, "I mean you don't seem that different from me, you know? I bet you're just overthinking; I'm sure a lot of the other cats think you're fun to hang out with."
Still, she looked to the water. She wasn't a great swimmer, but Sunpaw wasn't Sunpaw if she wasn't willing to try. "Yeah sure," she replied tentatively, "but just warning you, I can't really swim."
