Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
With the rebirth of Newleaf and it's many wonders along with the victory in stopping the floods that was fated to doom the clans, Thistlestar decided to hold a Jubilee as an expression of gratitude and love for not only our loved ones, but for Starclan in their guidance through the many trials Springclan faced the past few moons. With the aid of all the warriors, apprentices and medicine cats, Thistlestar created a new celebration in which beautiful flowers of many shapes, sizes and colors would be given by clan mates as a gesture of love, appreciation and gratitude.
Thistlestar padded forward into the center of Springclan, the sun beating warmly against his dusty pelt. Today was one of the warmest days Springclan had endured since the rebirth of Newleaf, perfect for the plans the Springclan leader had set in place. The strong mixtures of floral aromas hit the leader as he made his way to a colorful pile of different flowers varying in sizes, colors, smells and shapes. The sight brought a wide smile across the leader’s usual stern expression. The Blossom Jubilee was the perfect event to not only kick off the change of seasons, but the many hardships and victories the clan shared in the past few moons. Thistlestar’s spring green gaze flickered with a flash of memories, bringing with it an array of emotions. There was so much that happened in so little time and despite it all, he and his clan were still standing tall and strong in the faces of adversity. In that moment, he had never felt so proud of his clanmates.
“S-cusemee!” A muffled, sing song voice broke through the tom’s deep thoughts causing him to turn suddenly. He was met with the sight of Yarrowsong, an impressive collection of flowers spilling from the she-cat’s full muzzle. She dropped the pile onto an already large collection of flowers and looked up to the leader with a bright, heterochromatic gaze “There are a few more cats coming back from the Flower Meadows with the last round of flowers!” She reported gleefully, her paws dancing lightly in place with visible excitement.
Thistlestar nodded slightly at the excitable she-cat, chuckling softly at the sight. “Thank you Yarrowsong.” His deep voice was gentle and calm as he conversed with the warrior, his gaze searching the crowd for one particular cat. “Do you know if Beedust came back from the early morning patrol yet?” He asked, seemingly innocent, but deep down there was concern for his mate, though it wasn’t visible in his actions and words.
Yarrowsong watched the leader’s expression intently, her brows raising slightly as a small, teasing smile grew across her muzzle. She was one of the few cats who had caught on quickly to the forming relationship since the beginning. And being a close friend to Beedust, she couldn’t help but notice the subtle changes within her friend and the leader in their interactions throughout camp. “I am not sure, I did see her earlier though when I was picking out some strands of Lavender.” She admitted with a cheeky smile, before slowly backing away from the leader “I’m sure she will be here soon though!” And with that, the warrior bounded away with a giggle, heading towards the direction of the Nursery, where a small crowd of excited kits sat watching the preparations from a distance.
Thistlestar smirked slightly as he watched the white she-cat bound away, shaking his head to himself as he rose to his paws, making his way towards a small, but growing group of cats that sat on the other side of the flower pile.
Dovewish watched Thistlestar from where she sat at the edge of the camp. Her eyes were dull and despite the beautiful day, there was not a hint of a smile on her face. Her fur was unkempt and she looked tired and frail. The poor Springclan warrior had been struggling with her nightmares which had increased since the day she had experienced a heart break for the first time. The one cat she loved more than anything did not want her. Instead, he was starting a family with someone else. The gray warrior hung her head, still feeling the aching of her heart. At least when she felt the pain, she knew she was still alive.
Smokecloud, on the other hand, was feeling much livelier. He was returning from the flower meadow with a large variety of wild flowers. His amber eyes sparkled and he looked happier than ever. He deposited his collection on the pile after Yarrowsong. His eyes scanned the clearing for one cat in particular -- Mossbreeze. A warm, fuzzy feeling rose inside when the pretty black and white she-cat came into mind. He would have to pick out an extra beautiful flower for her.
Finchwatcher wasn't much for the mushy love festivities. It seemed as if everyone was in love this time of year. Blah she thought, feeling grossed out by all the mush. Finchwatcher wasnt a super young cat but she wasnt super old. Even at her age, she hadn't found herself a mate. It wasnt that she was afraid to fall in love. She just liked being alone. She saw her duties as a Trusted and was far more important. Besides. She didn't need a tom cat or a bunch of kits to distract her from her duties.
Fawnheart slipped out of the medicine cat den and scanned the clearing. The medicine cat wasnt interested in finding a mate, either. She had mated once with a tom and couldnt see herself mating again. However, she thought it would be a nice gesture to give a flower of appreciation to her medicine cat partner. Softpelt had been an exceptional partner and she deserved recognition.
Beedust re-entered camp just then, both excited and apprehensive about this ceremony. Some knew of her pregnancy already- Thistlestar, Fawnheart and, unbeknownst to her, Dovewish. But today was the day she and Thistlestar had agreed to go public with their relationship as well as their coming family. It wasn't like they could hide it for much longer, since she was a smaller cat and her stomach already looked like she had eaten a little too much for lunch. It wouldn't be long until she looked heavily pregnant.
For now, she was enjoying being able to hunt and patrol while Thistlestar and Fawnheart felt comfortable with her being as active as she was used to being. That was the one part of pregnancy she was not looking forward to, being nearly bed-ridden towards the very end. Caught in her own thoughts, she didn't notice Dovewish's sadness- she was still being catty and flaunting her own joy in front of the poor she-cat- as she joined the gathering throng of cats, shooting her mate a small, secret smile while waiting for the ceremony to begin
Aquakit was a little too young to have a girlfriend, but that didn't mean he couldn't get his grubby little paws on a daisy or two that he could give to someone. He held the flower lightly in his jaws, looking around the SpringClan camp with narrowed eyes as his Clanmates went about his business.
Who should I give it to? he thought. He didn't have a mother, or a father...or a friend, really. It was a little hard to make friends, when most of the other kits had already decided he was weird. That's why he'd picked up the daisy in the first place - he'd wanted to try and mend the bridges he must have somehow burned without realising. He sighed, the daisy in his mouth drooping as his body sagged. The Blossom Jubilee was a lot harder to navigate than he'd thought.
MOSSBREEZE The black and white she-cat sat by herself near the nursery, watching the excited kits from a distance. A wide and bright smile graced her tired expression. At this point she had gotten quite large in the span of a week and she knew she was close to giving birth to her kits. Thankfully, with the support of the other queens, she was given more time for herself, without having to chase after the current kits that resided in the nursery. As the camp grew more active, Mossbreeze couldn't help but take in each cat with quiet admiration until her pale green gaze finally found the sight of a cat she secretly was looking for. The sight of a heavily scarred Smokecloud made Mossbreeze smile wider. She watched as he dropped a load of multi-colored flowers into the large pile and her heart raced. Something in her wanted to call out to him, but she held back, suddenly feeling shy and bashful at the idea.
CRIMSONCROWN & OPALKIT "Come on Opalkit, let's find a nice spot near the pretty flowers." The light orange tabby queen stepped out of the nursery, her strides were calculated and graceful as the warm sun lit up her pretty pelt with warmth. Her amber orbs glanced around for a moment before turning back to a small dark orange kit who skipped after her in clear excitement, his own amber eyes bright and wide as it caught sight of the pile
"Wooow! Look mama! Look at all the colors!" He meowed emotionally, bounding forward and ahead of his mother with uncontrollable excitement. It was a rare sight to see the usually quiet and shy kit so animated. Being a kit limited the young tom the Springclan compound, but being the kit of Crimsoncrown limited the kit further more to his mother's side.
"Opalkit." Crimsoncrown spoke calmly, but sternly as the kit frozen at his mother's generous command, looking back at her apologetically "I'm sorry mama" He quipped quietly, his amber eyes searching his mother's expression for any sign of disapproval. The look on his face made her own stern one soften. The queen sighed, but her posture remained straight. "Let's be on our best behavior today and I don't want you too far from my side, do you hear?" She meowed, her brows raised slightly as she watched her young kit offer a small smile back "Yes mama."
SAPPHIRESMOKE A Russian blue Story-Teller sat quietly to himself at the entrance of the Story-Teller's den, watching the festivities ahead with a grumpy expression. As exciting as the event was, the old tom knew he would not be parking in the events. Who would bother with an old grumpy story-teller? In his whole life, he never took a mate and at his age, all of his family had already passed onto Starclan, leaving him without either a family or a love to keep him company but he didn't mind. He was rather independent and set in his ways. All he could do now is just watch on from a distance.
THISTLESTAR As the last of the cats entered the camp from the flower gathering, Thistlestar began to make his way towards high rock, glancing over at Beedust with a playful smirk, sneaking in a uncharacteristic wink in her direction before settling onto the rock comfortably. "Can I get everyone's attention?" He meowed loudly, his deep voice echoing throughout the pretty loud camp easily. The conversations that had started began to dim down to silence and Thistlestar waited a moment before proceeding "I just want to start off the first every Blossom Jubilee with a few words." He began slowly, his green gaze scanning the camp clearing. The sight made him proud and fueled him with confidence to speak on.
These past few months, Springclan was tested starting from the loss of our dear leader Blackstar, to a prey ridden Leaf-bare and the flood prophecies Despite the many obstacles and threats we faced, today we stand tall, proud and safe with the graces of Starclan. This Jubilee is mean't to give us all the opportunity to not only celebrate in our victories but to thank those who have made this beautiful day possible." He stopped to let the words sink in before proceeding "I wanted to take the time to give thanks first and foremost to Starclan who despite all hardships, has never left our side even when all hope seemed lost." He glanced out towards the medicine cats who sat just down wind of him, offering them a smile "Secondly, to our fearless and brave medicine cats who worked tirelessly to maintain the health and well being of our clan through the harshness Leaf-bare brought as well as aid in the fight again rebel cats who fought to bring forth the floods." He tore his pride filled gaze from Fawnheart and Softpelt before finally glancing back at the rest of his clan "And of course, I would like to thank everyone here, from the oldest Story-Teller to the youngest kit. You all have brought a factor of life to Springclan that keeps it immortal even through the trying of times."
"Let us celebrate now and share in our gratitude for all that we have today. Our warriors and apprentices have worked hard to pick out these beautiful flowers to bring to camp today. I would like to ask the youngest of cats to please find their way to the pile of flowers and pick out how ever many they would like and gift it to their loved ones." And with that, the leader stepped down, walking past the crowd of cats to sit near the edge of the pile, his deep green orbs watching as kits began to leap forward with excitement.
Dovewish Dovewish's gaze rested tiring on Thistlestar as he made the clan announcement. When he had finished, she turned her back, not wanting to engage in the festivities.
Fawnheart Fawnheart felt all the eyes of the clan burn into her fur and she couldnt help but warm under her leader's appreciative words. She gave him a grateful nod before he continued.
Autumnpaw "WOOHOO!!" Autumnpaw shouted after Thistlestar's marvelous announcement, giving a leap of celebration and swiping a paw in the air.
Finchwatcher A smile crossed Finchwatcher's face as Thistlestar made his announcement and watched all the kits leap forward to pick out their flowers. It was quite heart warming and amusing despite not really wanting any of her own.
Smokecloud Smokecloud's yellow eyes locked Mossbreeze's gaze and he felt the same fluttering feeling he had felt the other day. He swallowed hard and offered her a smile before looking away. He didn't want to walk over to her just yet. He wanted to choose a special flower for her just as Thistlestar calls up the older cats.
OPALKIT & CRIMSONCROWN At the end of Thistlestar's speech, Opalkit's eyes widened slightly with excitement as he watched the other kits move towards the flower pile. He felt his toes wiggle under him with anticipation, his mind wandering over to the leader's words. Without further hesitation he looked up to his mother, Crimsoncrown, his amber eyes blinking thoughtfully before speaking up "Mama, I want to pick a flower, Can I go up and get one?" He asked politely, patiently waiting for his mom's approval.
Crimsoncrown looked down at her son, sighing softly before nodding "Go ahead." She purred quietly, her expression stern and seriously, but a hint of a smile twinkled in her eyes.
With her approval, Opalkit bounded forward, a smile wide as he slowed at at the edge of the flower pile. He glanced around the pile thoughtfully, thinking deeply on his decision before finally spotting a large and full red Chrysanthemum. He approached it carefully, barley dodging another kit who cut past him in excitement until he reached the flower. It was poofy and bright red. It was hard not to take his eyes off the flower. The leader's words were fresh in his head as he grabbed the flower and skipped back towards his mom, slowing his pace as he saw his mom's eyes narrow slightly. He raised his head instinctively, remembering his mother's endless chiding on his bad posture. He finally dropped the flower at his mom's paw, offering her a small and shy smile "I picked a flower for you mama because I am grateful for you."
Crimsoncrown blinked down at the sight, her muzzle opened slightly open with surprise before she shut up, her brow furrowing slightly at the sight of her own kit "Thank you my love" She meowed, purring softly as she dropped her head to nuzzle her kit closer to her.
Beedust moved forward slowly, perusing the flower selection before picking out a soft and supple red rose. Holding it delicately by the stem, she wound her way through the crowd to Thistlestar, placing it at his feet.
"For you, and for our kits on the way," she said, not quietly but not loudly. It was a rather nonchalant way of proclaiming their relationship to the public, but Beedust had never been one for theatrics.
Creaturepaw had been notably absent from the ceremony. This was because he had somehow managed to conceal himself in the pile of flowers. His shadowy pelt let him blend in pretty well, and he wasn't a very large cat given his age, so it's not too hard to believe that a cat was under there. The real problem was that the ceremony was well under way and not a single cat had made a move toward one of his flowers yet. Well, he had broken a lot of the stems and ruffled a few of the petals, they wouldn't be the prettiest flowers out there but they still had nice, rice colors. Perhaps he had been figured out; his tail was sticking out, after all. Still, he held his position, waiting for someone to dare and try to take a flower, he was going to give them the fright of their life.
THISTLESTAR The leader's orbs scanned the area as the youngest cat bounded forward, followed slowly by more grown cats. The sight softened the leader's stern expression and he couldn't help but sigh in content. The comforting sight of Beedust's ginger pelt caught he attention and he turned only to see her pad forward towards him, a red rose in tow as she approached him. His eyes widened slowly and a smile spread wide across his muzzle as he rose to his feet, towering over the ginger she-cat as she offer the rose to him. His words brought a wave of warmth in him and he couldn't help but chuckled. He stepped forward only to walk past Beedust. His gaze remained on the she-cat until he passed her, turning to the pile of flowers to grab a similar red rose. He grabbed it, careful with the thorns that remained before turning back to his mate "I will only accept your flower if you would accept mine... and my love for you and the kits we have on our way." He, unlike Beedust, spoke out loud with no hesitation or reservation. He could hear some cats around him murmur and gasp and even a squeal from the familiar voice of Yarrowsong. The commotion made the leader warm under his dusty pelt, but he remained unmoved, staring deeply into Beedust's honey gaze as he slowly dropped the rose at the she-cat's paws.
MOSSBREEZE Catching Smokecloud's gaze, Mossbreeze couldn't help but gush, batting her pale green eyes in a small moment of shyness. In the moment the warrior pulled his gaze away, the queen could feel her heart flutter slightly with disappointment. She longed to go to his side, but thanks to her lack of courage and tired paws, she found it easier to remain sitting comfortably in her place, her gaze lingering longer on the scarred warrior.
Dovewish Dovewish heard the announcement about the kits and the excited murmurs and squeals that came from the rest of the clan. It seemed like everyone but her was celebrating. She felt sick again, the aching in her heart making her feel dizzy with grief. Her brows furrowed with sadness and a single tear rolled down her cheek. Bee was living her life. The gray warrior just couldn't take it anymore and disappeared out of the camp exit and into the forest.
Fawnheart She told him! Fawnheart thought as she heard what Thistlestar said. It warmed her to see the two love birds happily announcing their addition to their growing family.
Smokecloud The gray, scarred warrior caught sight of a beautiful pink magnolia with white tips. It was perfect for Mossbreeze. It reminded him of her. It was simple but nonetheless absolutely beautiful. He grabbed the flower in his jaws and turned toward Mossbreeze. Suddenly, anxiety kept his paws grounded. What if she refused the flower? What if she wasn't interested? What if he embarrassed her? Would she reject him? Would she reject the flower? He knew that if he didn't try, he would never find out so he swallowed his rising anxieties and made his way over to Mossbreeze. He stopped just before her and set the flower down.
"Mossbreeze..." he began awkwardly, knowing that he had never done anything like this before and failed to rehearse this moment. "I know we just began to spend time together but...I just can't get you out of my head. Everything reminds me of you a-and you probably don't like me back but I couldn't go any longer without knowing for sure if you felt the same way...I-I'm not handsome and I'm not perfect but I can promise to always make you happy and...your kits don't have to grow up without a father..." The whole time his yellow eyes were dancing around, unable to meet her gaze with the fear of what he might see in them but at the last part, he forced himself to look into her eyes so that she could see the seriousness in his.
Beedust felt the usual wave of embarrassment she felt at being singled out, but she shoved it down. It was only temporary, and it was what she had prepared for, entering a public relationship with a leader. She smiled wider, taking the rose from her mate. "Of course I'll accept your rose, silly," she responded, her voice a warm purr. Under his steady green gaze she felt like the luckiest she-cat around, a far cry from her loneliness when they had been apart for moons. Thank Starclan, it had all worked out, and she had had the sense to come home to him.
The flower pile that was Creaturepaw made gagging sounds and lashed his tail fervently from side to side. There was no way that had gone unnoticed, but he didn't care, he was getting extremely annoyed, having to stay still for so long and listen to all of these mushy confessions. He had hoped to make a surprise entrance, give a kit or two a fright, and give Illustratedrose a rose-like flower with a chorus of whimpering to emphasize his platonic affection. He'd have to change his plans. The vantablack tom stood up abruptly, scattering various flowers and flower petals all around him, and looked around to see if his friend was present, a ruffled camellia in his jaws.
MOSBREEZE Glancing back around the camp, Mossbreeze attempted to avoid getting caught staring at Smokecloud by looking around nonchalantly. In the moment she tried to glance over Smokecloud, realized too late that the grey tom was approaching her with a large and bright flower with white tips. The shock was evident in the black and white queen's expression as she sat in silently awe, until Smokecloud finally set the flower at her paws.
The queen listened to the tom's words, her heart racing hard against her chest, noting his avoidance of her gaze for most of it. It wasn't until he finally met her gaze with his intense, yellow eyes did she feel the earth around her sway. Mossbreeze had stopped breathing, holding her breath with heavy anticipation throughout his declaration. The sudden bought of nerves forced the queen to laugh shakily, dropping her head with embarrassment "I'm sorry- I mean- I am not sorry!" She stumbled over her words but stopped suddenly taking a deep breath as she began to reign in her nerves. She shut her eyes for a quick moment, inhaling before reopening them to meet Smokecloud's yellow ones. Her gaze as intense but soft as she took in the scarred tom. It was truly one of the first times she internally took in the scars with his features. As odd as it was, she never took them into consideration when thinking of the warrior's attractiveness.
"Smokecloud," She finally started, after a short period of silence. "I... feel the same way." She admitted gently, her eye lashes batting slowly as she allowed the words to flow from her heart. "I don't stop thinking about you throughout the passing days." Her voice grew stronger and steadier as she progressed, feeling the confidence in her feelings grow "I think you are, the most handsomest cat, of body and mind." Mossbreeze smiled as she spoke the words, but her smile faltered slightly "You have shown me kindness, understanding and empathy for not only me but for my unborn kits in a genuine way that has yet to be shown to me throughout my short life so far.
For a while, I didn't want to think of falling in love again. I had given the notion a chance and it led me to heartbreak." She felt the emotions well up in her chest as she spoke. "I thought no one else could love me but my own kits, but then you came along and showed me that there are others out there like my kits, who won't see me for my mistakes and failures, and who will love me unconditionally despite the difficult circumstance I am in..." She stopped, allowing a few moments to ease her racing heart, but the longer she held the warrior's gaze, the more she found it difficult to breathed. She knew she had to push through or she would never get her true feelings out. "We would be so happy and honored to have you in our life Smokecloud, if you would truly have us." The words came out breathy as tears formed in the queen's eyes.
THISTLESTAR With the acceptance of his flower, the leader stepped forward, nuzzling her affectionately with no hesitation. It finally felt right to show her affection without the fear of getting caught. He chuckled into her ginger pelt as cats around them whispered too loudly. He pulled back, smiling down at his mate before glancing behind her to see a familiar white coat bouncing towards them.
YARROWSONG " I knew it! I knew it since our first conversation!" Yarrowsong sang cheerfully as she approached the couple, her long white tail lashing around in reckless content. She nudged Beedust softly before offering her friend a congratulatory nuzzle. "Oop! I have to be careful with you now that you are pregnant!" She gushed with a new wave of excitement, "How do you feel? Do you feel different? A changed she-cat? Are they kicking you now? Are they kicking your insides? I heard you get a ravenous appetite when you are pregnant is that true? If so, I'll offer to be your personal hunter that way you get all the extra food you need!" The bombardment of questions garnered a deep and heavy laugh from the Springclan leader who stepped away slightly in attempt to flee the inquisitive warrior, but Yarrowsong didn't notice in the slightest.
Smokecloud Smokecloud listened to Mossbreeze speak, his heart racing. He was so scared that she was going to reject him. When she apologized by mistake, his heart sank. He was worried that she was going to reject him right then and there but he held on to listen to everything she said. As she stumbled over her words, he couldnt help but find it cute. His heart started to lift again as she went on, holding back tears of joy that dared to show. He swallowed back the lump rising in his throat, feeling warmed by her kind words. What she said at the end made him choke up and one tear finally fell from his cheek. He wiped it away with a paw and sniffled. That was the first time anyone had ever called him handsome and wanted him to be part of their family. "It would make me the happiest tom in the world to have you and your kits be my family." He stepped forward and pressed his head to her's purring loudly, a smile stretching from one ear to the next.
Fawnheart Fawnheart padded over to Beedust and Thistlestar. "Congratulations!" She purred, sweetly. She gave a look to Beedust that said 'I knew it' and twitched her whiskers in amusement.
MOSSBREEZE Mossbreeze melted at the sight of the evident emotion in Smokecloud's expression, smiling gently as a single tear fell. She felt her own eyes welled up with the threat of tears. As Smokecloud pressed into her, she melted into his chest, a content filled laugh muffled by the tom's grey pelt. The queen couldn't put to words the excitement she felt, for herself and her unborn kits...
THISTLESTAR The leader suppressed his chuckles as Yarrowsong came bounding up to them, his gaze trailing off to see the familiar figure of Fawnheart making her way towards them. Thistlestar offered a small smile of relief, knowing that Fawnheart would be the perfect shield from Yarrowsong's inquisitive attacks. "Thank you Fawnheart." He spoke gently, but the burning excitement in his eyes was clear.
Smokecloud Smokecloud let out a sigh of content as he felt Mossbreeze return the affection, happiness causing his heart to swell. He felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest.
Fawnheart Fawnheart dipped her head respectfully to Thistlestar. "Of course" she responded with a purr. It brought her joy to see the happiness between the two of them. There was a lot of love going around the camp today. There was a small prickled in her heart as she remembered her mate in Fallclan. It saddened her that she couldnt share this festival with him but she didn't let it show. She didn't want to bum the rest of her clanmates out.
