Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. The small dark shadow lingered in the corner of NightClan's camp. It shifted, waiting for its next prey, its next victim. The small kitten pictured himself hunting, jumping like a tiger, killing, running. His roar echoed around camp, cats ran in fear. A small smile crossed Lingeringkit's features, his jet black fur shinning in the sunshine turning it into a dark gold, tiger stripes appearing along his pelt. His paws becoming large, huge claws growing from them. With a roar, he darted out from behind his hiding spot. His eyes searching for his next victim. With a huge war cry, the tomcat jumped, feeling his claws meet fur.
"Do you give up now?" he spat at the cat he clung to, like a small fur ball. Of course, he pictured himself pinning them to ground, his claws digging into their throat. "There's no escape for you!" Lingeringkit laughed venomously, his claws digging in further.
The skinny grey speckled tom wove through the camp with a scrawny mouse in his jaw, heading for the fresh-kill pile with his head slightly ducked. Normally he'd be flaunting any kill he made, but this was different; after so much time spent searching this was his only catch, and anyone who looked too closely at the prey would notice it had been in terrible health anyway. The kill had required hardly any skill at all. But prey was prey, right?
Then someone slammed into his side. Specklestorm yelped, his mouse flying out of his jaws as he staggered but stayed on his paws. He looked down at the kit, made a face, and started to shake him off. "Let me go," he complained, "you stupid kit!"

Lingeringkit hung on for dear life, his imagination slowly ebbing away until he realized he was pinning a Warrior to the ground, not an enemy. He still didn't let go though, determination to defeat this other cat that had so happened to get in his way welled inside of him. How dare this cat call him stupid! He was probably ten times stronger than the other cat and far more fearsome, the tom had no right to insult him like this.
With a low growl, Lingeringkit dug his claws deeper in. His grip losing and tightening as the other cat tried to shake him off. In reality, his strength did not match the other cat, he could already feel the pain ripping up his muscles, he couldn't hang on forever. "No! I won't let go! I'm stronger than you and I will beat you in this fight." Growled the small kit. At least he thought it came out like a growl. It probably sounded more like a shrill squeak.
Specklestorm's rage built quickly, and he yelped in pain as the tiny claws dug deeper into his thin pelt. He was going to break the skin and make him bleed everywhere! "Crazy kit! Are you trying to hurt me? I'll have you named a traitor for this!" He shook himself again, then growled and dropped suddenly to the ground, where he could use his back legs to scratch vigorously where the kit clung to his fur. "You can't beat me, so give up!"

The sheer force the other tom used was enough to throw Lingeringkit off, a growling hissing mess on the floor. Eyes wide, he jumped up, adrenaline stopping the small kit from feeling any pain. "I am a Warrior! A fighter!" He hissed at the real Warrior. Bearing his tiny fangs, he began to circle the Warrior as he had seen Apprentices do in playfights. It made sense: confuse the enemy long enough to dive in with the final blow to end all blows. This was, at least, what Lingeringkit thought he was going to do.
"Don't you see!" He growled. "You'll never win! You should be the one on the ground, crying for help!"
"Finally!" Specklestorm snapped as the kit was thrown free. Unconcerned about the little one's safety, he rolled back to his paws and stood up, glaring down at the tiny creature and just daring him to try and attack again. The nerve of some cats! His lips pulled back in a low, rumbling warning growl. "Come near me again and I'll flay you! You're pathetic. You can't hurt me. And would you stop walking in circles?!"

Pathetic?! PATHETIC?! Now this stupid tom had really done it and Lingeringkit had had enough. Seriously, some cats were so self-focussed! Continuing to walk in circles, the small kit sneered, "Hah. Bro, you're gonna regret you were ever born in a minute." A frown crossed his face. Why was this weak, embarrassing example of a tom even challenging him? Had he not realised that if Lingeringkit attacked again, it would be the end of everything for this tom?
So, Lingeringkit did the normal, typical thing any kit would do his age: he challenged the warrior. "Huh. Well, if you're stupid brain won't process the fact that I'M stronger than you, than how about a one v one between the both of us?" He growled, dead serious.
The gray warrior laughed. "A fight with you? I could hold you down by the tail and you've never reach me."
He should have kept walking right then, but the young tom was impulsive. He'd never been good at anything, and he was confident he had the skills to defeat the tiny kit. He pursed his lips, tilted his head, and then he smiled, thin and mean. "You know what? Sure, kit. Let's fight." He kicked his mouse away and let it tumble across the clearing toward the kill pile, out of their way. "Come and try and fight me, if you're that harebrained."
