Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
/ THRUSHSTAR male | single | orange and white striped medium-haired pelt with yellow eyesSETTING:camp + TIME: early morning
Thrushstar awoke with a quiet mew. His dreams haunted him always with the greencough outbreak. He shook his fur our and walked to the middle of the camp, seeing early cats already at work. He padded over to the apprentices den in search of Cypresspaw.
(I FEEL SO BAD I NEVER SAW THIS OMG IM SO SORRY) Cypresspaw bounced out of the apprentice den with a spring in her step. She saw Thrushstar approaching and smiled warmly, dipping her head to the leader. "G'morning, Thrushstar! Are we doing some training today?" She asked eagerly.
Cypresspaw thought for a moment. "Well.... I really wanna learn how to attack from the trees! That's what we're known for, right? Is that too hard to learn? I don't care if it is- I'm ready for it!" Cypresspaw sure was a rambler, though she felt the need to ramble with her mentor. She felt special and honored to be taught by the leader himself- furthering her delusion that she was born for greatness. She jumped and fell into an attacking position in front of her mentor as if to already prove what little strength and worth she had as a young apprentice.
Thrushstar flicked his ears with amusement at the apprentice's eagerness to learn. He was happy. "Alright," he said, starting to pad out of camp. "If you want to start with the hardest technique a FallClan cat can learn, then let's do it." he said.
Her eyes widened and a large toothy smirk formed across her maw. "YESS!!! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR!!" She screamed in exciment, bouncing wildly in the air. It was definitely a lot of energy.
After her brief outburst, she slowly calmed down, panting in both exhaustion and excitement. "S-sorry.. I've been waiting my entire life for this moment."
He widened his eyes but chuckled. "It's alright. I understand. I mean.. I kind of do. I never had a proper apprentice ceremony." he said, and started to pad towards the entrance. "Did you know I came to FallClan as a rogue?" he asked.
She shook her head. “No, but that sounds. So. COOL!” She finished excitedly. It didn’t come as much of a surprise to her. Her own mother had been a loner, and most of their Clan was made up of cats from all different walks of life. To think that even her own leader had come from such humble beginnings.... it just made her heart beat with excitement!
She nodded, listening with intent. "Mama must have felt the same way." She smiled warmly, amber eyes beaming with excitement. This was all so cool! "I'm glad she came to FallClan! So then we could be born and raised here, and I can become the best fighter ever!" She jumped at the last part, her excitement at this point overflowing.
Thrushstar nodded. "With me training, you will be." he said with a chuckle. "Now, let's get to it." They trotted down well worn paths all throughout FallClan's territory. Thrushstar was sure to point out different kind of trees to the apprentice. Although it would not be a strategy in battle to know species of trees, it was just something cool to learn. Once the sun reached it's highest point on the sky, they were near the broken bridge. Water flowed underneath it, cool and clear. "We can rest here for a moment. I'm sure you're tired of me blabbing about trees."
Cypress paw bounced close behind her mentor, shaking her head to reassure him. “No! I love learning about our land! It helps us be better warriors.” She flashed her mentor a bright smile. “Oh! Oh! Can you show me how to fish? I know this is one of the best spots to do it— the older warriors talk about it all the time.”
Thrushstar glanced at the water. It seemed low enough to be safe for the small apprentice to learn. "Sure," he said, padding closer to the rocky shore. "Do you know what to look for in the water?" he asked.
She shook her head with a bit of a solemn look. “Well.... not really..... I’ve never been near a creek or anything before.” She frowned slightly. She was still a very young apprentice, barely ever even leaving the FallClan camp as a kit. Now that she was allowed to leave officially, she knew she could explore..... yet, always found herself wanting to explore together with someone. It wasn’t as fun by herself.
"It's alright!" he said quickly. "It is the role of the apprentice to learn. That's what I'm here for." he said, laying his tail across her back. He looked down deep into the water, watching for any kind of movement. A flick of silver gave the prey away, and his cream-colored paw flashed forward into the water. A slippery, slimy fish landed on the bank. It flung water all over the pair before the leader gave it a swift bite. "There you go. I'm sure you're hungry. Eat, and I'll show you some tricks." he said with a chuckle.
She watched with wide eyes in awe of Thrushstar catching the fish. It wasn't much for now, but she had never seen it done before, and couldn't help but just be amazed by it. Everything was so cool during training! She sort of wished she could be an apprentice forever now. Smiling down at the fish, she took a large bite and purred deeply as the new tastes flooded her mouth. She looked up at Thrushstar, mouth full of fish, with a bright and wide smile. "What kinds of tricks?!" She asked through muffled voice, gulping down the last of her meal before she could continue with glee, "Can you teach me to do that? Is that something that hunters learn? I wanna be a hunter now! No- wait- do defenders learn the hardest FallClan attack ever? Cause then I wanna be a defender and do that! Or do fighters? I wanna learn everything!" The young apprentice bounced up, voice rising as she got more and more excited.
He laughed. "You can be efficient in both, Cypresspaw. Just because you want to be a defender doesn't mean you can't hunt. We all have to hunt for each other." he said. He glanced down into the stream once more. "You will learn it all in time. Now, look at the stream. What do you see?"
